SEVENTEEN’s concert was temporarily interrupted after a fire broke out on stage. “CARATs are so hot…”

A serious accident was averted during K-pop group SEVENTEEN’s opening performance at a South Korean venue. Just moments before the members were set to take the stage, a staff member discovered a fire igniting among the numerous lighting fixtures above the stage. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, although the incident caused a delay in the performance and filled the venue with smoke as staff actively worked to ensure everyone’s safety.

When the show resumed, the members playfully poked fun at the situation and teased their fans to lighten the mood and ease the tension.

Fire breaks out at SEVENTEEN’s concert

K-pop boy band SEVENTEEN kicked off their fourth world tour on October 12 in Goyang, South Korea. Just before the show began, members were told to stay off stage as a fire broke out. Luckily the damage was quickly contained, but fans feared that it could have resulted in a major incident if it had not been discovered in time.

The performance was temporarily halted after a staff member noticed unusual sparks filling the venue with smoke. Meanwhile, the responsive employee managed to climb the railing decorated with lights and extinguish the fire before it spread further, the reports said.

In various clips and videos, fans can be seen trying to blow smoke away from themselves with their merchandise, especially those near the stage and under the spotlights.

“No injuries reported”

After a delay of almost 20 minutes, it was confirmed that no injuries were reported, allowing the show to go ahead as planned. Luckily, everything went smoothly from then on. After the fire was extinguished thanks to the staff’s quick actions, the CARATs in the venue applauded the heroic staff member and the performance continued!

Despite the tense situation and visible fear on fans’ faces, the members managed to keep the mood light, jokingly remarking, “SEVENTEEN and CARATs are so hot; it’s no surprise we had a fire here.” Hoshi tried to make light of the situation while comforting fans by saying, “No, no, it’s up to you~ It’ll be okay no matter what!” Jeonghan attended the concert during his military service.

SEVENTEEN is a boy band consisting of S.Coups, Jeonghan, Joshua, Jun, Hoshi, Wonwoo, Woozi, DK, THE8, Mingyu, Seungkwan, Vernon and Dino. They debuted under Pledis Entertainment and will release their 12th mini-album SPILL THE FEELS on October 14th. The upcoming album marks the K-pop group’s first comeback in about six months. Her ongoing world tour will make stops in Japan and the United States after South Korea, running from October 12th to December 22nd. Jeonghan and Jun are currently serving in the military.
