In this unique competition series, America’s best roller skating teams will dance across the decades as expert judges and pop culture icons decide which team is worthy of winning Roller Jam and $150,000

The Max Original Competition Series ROLLER JAM debuts THURSDAY, OCTOBER 10TH on Max, followed by a weekly episode and ending with the finale on November 14th.

Episode descriptions:

• Episode 1: “Qualifying Round 1: Smells of Team Spirit”
  Special guest judge: Pepa
  The top five of America’s top 10 roller skating teams dance through the decades for a chance to take home $150,000. Pepa, the 1990s hip-hop queen, joins our expert jury to decide who will move on to the next round.
• Episode 2: “Qualifying Round 2: Y2-SK8”
  Special Guest Judge: Michelle Williams
  The next five of ten roller skating teams march into the star-studded Roller Jam arena as 2000s music icon Michelle Williams joins our judging panel to decide who will “make it” to the Top 8.
• Episode 3: “Skate-to-Skate Battles”
  Special Guest Judge: Maureen McCormick
  The eight best teams compete against each other in direct duels. Maureen McCormick, a surprise guest judge on the most popular TV show of the 1970s, helps decide her fate. There are only five spots left in the next round and three of the teams will be eliminated.
• Episode 4: “Team Challenge: Go for Launch!”
  Special Guest Judge: Marissa Jaret Winokur
  It’s a trip down memory lane as the top five skate crews, with Tony Award-winning guest judge Marissa Jaret Winokur, perform breathtaking routines inspired by the classic songs of the 1960s and a challenge encapsulated in the Roller Jam -Arena reaches new heights.
• Episode 5: “Team Challenge: Let’s Get Physical!”
  Special Guest Judge: Debbie Gibson
  The top four skate teams will don their best neon lights and show off their best ’80s dance moves in front of our celebrity judges and a special ’80s pop icon, Debbie Gibson, in the semifinals.
• Episode 6: “Grand Finale”
  Special Guest Judge: Joanna Gaines
  Joanna Gaines is a guest judge in the ultimate showdown of America’s best skaters in this high-stakes finale. Teams will compete for the title of Roller Jam Champion, the grand prize of $150,000 and a donation to support their local rink.

In each episode, skate teams must develop entirely new routines to perform for Johnny, Terrell and a celebrity guest judge in front of a live audience, with only one ultimately being voted as the country’s ultimate roller dancing team.
