Tennessee survives scare from Florida and wins in overtime by walk-off TD

Tennessee beat Florida 23-17 in overtime on Saturday night.

In overtime, the Gators got the ball first but couldn’t generate much momentum. They ended up missing a field goal attempt on 4th-and-14.

Tennessee’s offense left little doubt about its possession in OT. The Vols stormed to the goal line and eventually won the game with a 1-yard touchdown run by Dylan Sampson.

Here is a repeat:

It was a tough night overall for Tennessee’s offense, but the Vols got going in the second half. Sampson scored two more touchdowns in regulation, giving the Vols a 17-10 lead at one point in the second half.

Florida was able to tie the game, but Tennessee ultimately prevailed. This is a big win for the Vols, who needed to bounce back after losing at Arkansas in Week 6. The win also gives Tennessee its second win over UF in the last three years. It’s the first time since 2003-04 that UT has won twice against Florida in a three-year span.

Tennessee now prepares to host Alabama in Week 8 next weekend.
