Expungement Resource Fair at Lake Michigan College

Expungement Resource Fair at Lake Michigan College

Hosted by Present Pillars, the Expungement Resource Fair offered a chance at a fresh start for those seeking to remove certain criminal records from public view.

The fair was held October 12th from noon to 4 p.m. in the Mendel Center at Lake Michigan College.

Individuals could apply to expunge convictions imposed in Michigan. The process included a review of individuals to determine whether they were eligible under the Michigan Clean Slate Law.

We spoke to James Gunter, Executive Director at Present Pillars, about the event. “Expulsion is more than just a legal process – it is a path to a better future for families and communities,” Gunter said.

Expungement gives people opportunities they may not have because of their criminal record. It restores individual dignity and strengthens families and communities.
