One man is killed and nine injured in shootings near Tennessee State University during homecoming

NASHVILLE – At least one person died and several people were injured in a shooting near Tennessee State University on Saturday, according to police in Nashville.

Metro Nashville Police said gunfire occurred near the intersection of Jefferson St and 27th Ave N.

They also said all victims were taken to area hospitals. According to police, five were transported by the Nashville Fire Department. Another five arrive at the hospital in private vehicles.

According to authorities, the deceased victim was a 24-year-old man. Three teenagers were injured.

They add that at least one of the victims is suspected of being involved in the shooting.
