Man, 59, killed in crash on I-275 in Plymouth Township: MSP

PLYMOUTH TOWNSHIP, MI – A 59-year-old Lincoln Park man was killed in a crash on Interstate 275 in Plymouth Township Friday afternoon, according to Michigan State Police.

According to police, the accident occurred at 3:10 p.m. on northbound Interstate 275 near Ann Arbor Road in Plymouth Township.

According to police, the 59-year-old man was driving a cement truck and crashed into the back of a box truck, which then crashed into a semi-truck.

According to police, officers took the 59-year-old man to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

The police did not report any other injuries.

Concrete, tar and diesel fuel spilled across the highway and took hours to clean up.

The highway reopened early Saturday morning.
