Nebraskans could be reluctant kingmakers in the US election

Nice, normal and calm – three adjectives Nebraskans are most proud to be used to describe themselves.

But in a razor-sharp US presidential election that is anything but pretty and normal, Nebraskans are reluctantly finding themselves in the spotlight.

The race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump is now so close that the single electoral vote from Omaha, the swing city in Nebraska, could decide the winner.

The intense battle for that vote has led both Democratic and Republican campaigns to pour staff and millions of dollars into the state.

Not that most Nebraskans are rushing to accept the role of kingmaker.
