43-year-old Lincoln man charged with sexually assaulting a young girl

A 43-year-old Lincoln man was charged Friday with sexually assaulting a young girl, according to court documents.

Justin Whitlock was charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child.

According to the affidavit, Lincoln Police Department officers were dispatched to the Bryan East Campus on reports of a sexual assault in August at approximately 9:15 p.m.

At the hospital, a witness told police she was preparing a bath for the girl, aged under 10, when she noticed blood on her underwear.

According to the affidavit, the victim said Whitlock did inappropriate things to her.

Police believe the attack occurred at Whitlock’s residence near North 29th and Hitchcock streets.

The victim accused Whitlock of touching her private parts and making her bleed.

According to the affidavit, a forensic scientist discovered male DNA and semen on the girl’s skirt and underwear.

In October, investigators visited Whitlock’s residence to request an interview at LPD headquarters.

Police concluded that Whitlock had sexually abused the girl. Officers arrested Whitlock the following day.

Judge Matt Acton set his bail percentage at $1 million, meaning he would have to pay $100,000 to be released.

Whitlock is being held in the Lancaster County Jail.
