Heading into Week 6, the Cleveland Browns have one of the worst offenses in the NFL.

Cleveland ranks last in the league in total offensive yards per game (239.4), 30th in passing yards (142.8), 30th in points per game (15.8 ) and 26th in rushing yards per game (96.6).

But the Philadelphia Eagles – this week’s opponent – aren’t exactly rocking the world defensively, as they’re giving up 365.8 yards per game, making them the 27th-worst team in the league.

The Browns have several options to attack this porous Philly defense, including two that we outline here.

Runs designed by Deshaun Watson

With Cleveland’s offensive line still missing two starters, the Browns will have to come up with creative ways to move the football, especially since the team has failed to protect Deshaun Watson.

Watson was sacked 26 times in five weeks, by far the most sackings in the NFL.

Unless the line improves, Watson is a mobile quarterback and has already gained 131 yards on 25 carries this season.

Allowing him to throw the football around the field more than 40 times every game is pointless.

Instead, allow the run-pass option plays implemented on offense this offseason to work for the Browns and prevent Watson from being released by Philadelphia.

D’Onta Foreman Power Football

For years, head coach Kevin Stefanski ran a “heavy” offense that utilized the power running game to enable play-action passing plays.

It’s time to return to these principles.

No, veteran running back D’Onta Foreman is not and will not be star Nick Chubb.

But his ability to keep defenses focused on him being a running threat will allow the Browns to make play-action passes to wide receivers Amari Cooper and Jerry Jeudy or tight end David Njoku.

It’s not necessarily the offense Stefanski, offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey and Watson want to run.

But it’s what the Browns need this week to get back in the win column.
