The Wellfleet community is mourning the loss of the owner of a local flower shop in a fatal accident

WELLFLEET – In a tragic turn of events, a well-known Eastham resident and local business owner, Sheila Kelley, was pronounced dead Thursday morning after a two-vehicle collision on Route Six near Lecount Hollow Road.

Police and firefighters responded to the scene around 6:52 a.m. after receiving reports of the accident.

A 2006 box van driven by a 60-year-old Worcester man collided with Kelley’s 2020 Toyota Sienna van.

Kelley, 63, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the van suffered injuries and was taken to Cape Cod Hospital; The extent of his injuries is currently unknown.

Kelley, who owned a flower shop in Wellfleet, was a valued member of the community.

Wellfleet Police expressed their condolences to her family and friends and recognized the impact she had on the lives she touched.

The Massachusetts State Police Accident Reconstruction Team has taken over the investigation to determine the cause of the accident.
