Key insights

  • A Twitch streamer named Blurbs attempted to play through Red Dead Redemption 2 while all characters were drunk, even during cutscenes.
  • Unsurprisingly, it was extremely difficult to complete the missions when everyone was plastered, as Blurb had to tie characters to his horse and drag them behind him while they kept falling off their horse.
  • There’s also quite a bit of pandemonium during the playthrough, as it seems like the citizens of Valentine are having trouble eating their dinner.

Red Dead Redemption 2 is a pretty serious experience for the most part, with a few little splashes of fun here and there to ensure you don’t get too depressed as you make your way through the main story. One of these missions is “A Quiet Time”, in which the protagonists Arthur Morgan and Lenny have a nice drink in Valentine, but the couple gets completely exhausted.

It’s a fun mission that achieved meme status when Red Dead Redemption 2 first launched, but have you ever wondered what the world would be like if the entire world was as drunk as Arthur and Lenny were that faithful night? Luckily, we no longer have to imagine that, as a Twitch streamer named Blurbs shared a video of his playthrough of the game, in which every character is constantly drunk, even in cutscenes.

After downloading a custom mod that increased the level of alcohol in each character’s bloodstream, Blurbs played through the game normally to see exactly what kind of carnage would unfold. It turns out that Red Dead Redemption 2 doesn’t take kindly to its main characters being drunk, and in Blurbs’ video you can often see characters like Uncle, Karen, and many others randomly falling, sometimes in the middle of conversations in cutscenes.

Unsurprisingly, these falls made it quite difficult to actually complete missions, as Arthur’s gang also seems to have a lot of trouble actually riding their horses. There’s a moment in the middle of Blurbs’ video where three different people throw themselves off their horses one after the other, stopping any progression of the story. Fortunately, it was much easier if you tied one to the back of a horse.

There’s also quite a bit of vomit, which probably won’t come as a shock to those of you who’ve had a sip or two in the game. Blurbs can’t go anywhere without seeing someone vomiting up last night’s dinner, and the absurdity of the situation peaks at the 14 minute and 30 second mark when two men spit everywhere while Arthur explains, how much he loves his gang.

I highly recommend watching Blurbs’ entire video, as watching cowboys accidentally fall off cliffs or headbutt trees is surprisingly never boring. Blurbs is also a great content creator to check out if you like unique takes on your favorite games, as he is also the mastermind behind a Skyrim series that allowed his Twitch chat to speak for every NPC in Skyrim. Just like his playthrough of Red Dead Redemption 2, it was pretty cursed.

A prequel to the original game, Rockstar’s Red Dead Redemption 2 sees you take on the role of Arthur Morgan – an outlaw in search of redemption – as he and the Van der Linde gang are on the run in a time when the Savage West is becoming less and less.
