2 injured in accident in Haskell County

HASKELL COUNTY, Kan. (KWCH) – Two people were injured in a crash in rural western Kansas Saturday evening.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said the accident occurred shortly after midnight at the intersection of U-83 and U-56, less than a mile west of Sublette.

According to KHP, a tractor-trailer was traveling north on U-83 when it failed to stop at an intersection and struck a minivan. The pickup truck came to a stop in the northwestern ditch.

The driver of the pickup truck was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The passenger was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The truck driver remained uninjured.
