Review: Diecast’s Time To Die delivers heartbreaking horror movies that will leave you wanting more

Time To Die is Manchester’s new immersive spooky experience where the team behind Diecast celebrates the Halloween season in a frightening way.

As someone who gets scared easily, I went into the attraction already terrified. We were told to prepare to be petrified, and Time To Die did not disappoint.

When we first entered the venue we were greeted by the lovely staff and grabbed one of Diecast’s famous slushy cocktails. My guest and I both had the Bloody Strawberry Daiquiri – to die for.

After having a drink and talking to some of the cast members who roamed the seating area, getting in your face and scaring you before the attraction even started, we made our way to the main attraction.

The Die Is Cast maze is truly terrifying. We giggled from nervousness in the queue and heard the constant screams of those already in the attraction, but as we circled around, the giggles soon stopped.

It’s safe to say that I’ve never screamed so much and so loudly, but I also had a lot of fun doing it. Our adrenaline was through the roof and we were on the edge of our seats the whole time and it was a big space to cover.

It’s also worth noting that if you would feel uncomfortable with actors touching you or being in your personal space, this may not be for you. We didn’t feel uncomfortable and staff were present in the middle of the maze to check that everyone was ok and if not, could offer a way out.

After we thought we had calmed down enough, we headed to the second maze, the Toymaker.

If I were to do this again, I would go through this maze first. It was shorter and much less intense than The Die Is Cast.

It would be the perfect warm-up before the main attraction, but conversely the maze didn’t have the same impact. That’s not to say I didn’t scream many times during the experience, I did, but the adrenaline wore off.

We also experienced the first labyrinth alone, we walked through the second labyrinth in a group and ended up in the middle. This way we knew when to expect a scare because the people ahead had warned us with their screams.

After the nightmare including labyrinths, we grabbed a drink and calmed down with a pizza.

Known for their food and drink offerings, Diecast did not disappoint. Even towards the end of the evening, the pizza tasted fresh and delicious, exactly what we needed after an intense evening.

Area 51 is the team behind the experience and responsible for the award-winning Newsham Scream Park. You can really see their experience at this event and they pulled out all the stops for Manchester.

The Die Is Cast and The Toymaker at Time To Die were released on Friday the 11thTh October with selected dates until Saturday, 2nd November, so be prepared for the fright of your life.
