Arrest in fatal pedestrian-vehicle crash in Fort Smith; Victim 13 year old boy | The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

FORT SMITH – A suspect has been arrested in the fatal vehicle-pedestrian crash that killed a 13-year-old boy on Kelley Highway Friday.

The suspect’s name was not released by the Fort Smith Police Department Friday evening, but an arrest was made for suspected impaired driving, according to a news release from the police department.

Police responded to a vehicle-pedestrian accident on Kelley Highway and 44th Street Friday afternoon around 5 p.m. The child, who was initially determined to be under 10 years old, died from injuries sustained in the accident.

According to police, the investigation is still ongoing.
