1 fatally shot, another injured in drive-by shooting in Fort Worth, police said

One person was fatally shot and another was injured in a drive-by shooting early Saturday in north Fort Worth, police said.

Officers were dispatched to the 1800 block of NE 33rd Street near Schwartz Avenue shortly before 2 a.m. in response to a shooting call. When officers arrived, they found two people with gunshot wounds to their upper bodies, police said.

Both were taken to hospitals, where one died. The identity of this person has not been revealed.

The second person is expected to survive his injuries, police said late Saturday morning.

Investigators determined that an unknown vehicle was driving by the location and fired several shots at a group of people when the two victims were struck.

Police released no further information. An investigation is ongoing.
