4-year-old girl under 4 hospitalized after a car crash in Englewood, Chicago, in the 6700 block of South Stewart Avenue, police said

CHICAGO (WLS) – A 4-year-old girl was among four people hospitalized after a crash on the South Side early Saturday morning, Chicago police said.

According to police, the accident occurred around 2:45 a.m. in the 6700 block of South Stewart Avenue in the Englewood neighborhood

A GMC SUV traveling eastbound crashed into a black Chevy sedan also traveling eastbound, police said.

A 41-year-old woman who was at GMC was transported to Stroger Hospital in good condition. Two other women, 41 and 34, were also at the GMC but refused medical attention.

Inside the Chevy were a 27-year-old woman, a 28-year-old man and a 4-year-old girl. Both adults were taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition, and the child was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in good condition.

The police initially did not provide any further information about the accident.
