Pierce County, WA (October 11, 2024) – On Friday, 86 year old Arvil Crase died and an 86-year-old woman suffered injuries in a crash on State Route 706.

An 86-year-old Tumwater man, Arvil Crase, died Friday in a car accident along State Route 706 in Pierce County, according to reports.

According to a news release and Washington State Patrol spokesman John Dattilo, at 10:45 a.m. Crase was a passenger in a vehicle traveling westbound near 226th Avenue

The fatal collision occurred when a vehicle coming from the opposite direction left the road and struck Crase’s vehicle, which had turned left onto a private driveway.

The driver of Crase’s vehicle, an 86-year-old woman from Tumwater, sustained injuries and was transported to Tacoma General Hospital.

The other driver, a 79-year-old man from Spanaway, was uninjured, the memo said.
