Jigra Box Office Collections Day 2: Alia Bhatt was the leading lady of the jailbreak drama and records a MAJOR growth of 40 percent on Dussehra on Saturday

Jigra, directed by Vasan Bala and starring Alia Bhatt, Vedang Raina, Manoj Pahwa and others, grew 40 percent on the Dussehra holiday. With Rs 6.30 crore on Saturday, the jailbreak drama’s two-day collection stands at Rs 10.80 crore. Jigra is heading for a weekend of Rs 17 crore and that is certainly not an optimal result. The film will need a strong hold after the weekend to achieve a respectable end result.

Jigra grows by 40 percent on Dussehra Saturday

Jigra lagged behind Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video on the first day but somehow managed to keep up with the comedy-drama collections on the second day. If Jigra outshines ‘Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video’ on Sunday, it is most likely to fare better on weekdays too and become the most popular Hindi film this Dussehra. The Alia Bhatt starrer has already achieved greater success and is trending better internationally than its rival release.

Jigra Starring Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video doesn’t have much significance and wouldn’t mean much as there is already a huge difference in the size of both the films. Not only is Jigra a bigger film in terms of production cost, it is also bigger in terms of face value.

The Indian box office this Dussehra will be dominated by Rajinikanth’s Vettaiyan

This Dussehra will be dominated by the Tamil film Vettaiyan, directed by superstar Rajinikanth. The battle for second place is between the two big Hindi releases. As far as Jigra’s economics are concerned, the company has covered its entire costs through the sale of non-theatrical rights alone. However, the film’s verdict is based only on its theatrical performance and not on its restorations.

About Jigra

Satya (Alia Bhatt) and Ankur (Vedang Raina) are orphans. Satya, the elder, is overprotective of her brother and is more like a parent to him. You live with a rich and powerful relative. Satya never feels like she or her brother are part of her family.

Ankur is a programmer. He is good friends with Kabir, the son of the relative with whom Satya and Ankur live. They travel to Hanshi Dao, an island in Southeast Asia, to pitch a business idea. One night, when Ankur and Kabir return to their hotel rooms, they are caught by the local police. Kabir is the one with the drugs, but it is Ankur who is falsely implicated, thanks to Kabir’s powerful father. Ankur is sentenced to life imprisonment.
