Hubbard County 4-H Youth Wins Awards at Livestock Show – Park Rapids Enterprise

4-H youth from across northern Minnesota attended the 89th Annual Northeast 4-H Livestock Show in Little Falls on September 28th and 29th.

This year, 289 youth from 18 counties participated, including nine from Hubbard County.

According to a press release, the show is an educational opportunity for 4-H youth who received a blue ribbon at their fair for showcasing their animal science projects.

The first day of the show was all about the production. Showmanship courses are evaluated based on the exhibitor’s ability to present their animal to the best of their ability while demonstrating their genetic abilities in the show ring, the release said.

The second day of the show highlights 4-H livestock in the species evaluation shows, including cattle, swine, meat goats, sheep, poultry and rabbits.
