Motorcyclist dies in high-speed crash in Bristol

BRISTOL, CT (WFSB) – A motorcyclist has died in a high-speed crash at midnight Saturday.

While patrolling Farmington Avenue near Oakland Street, officers observed two motorcycles speeding by.

A sergeant quickly turned to stop them but discovered that one of the motorcycles had crashed.

Despite immediate life-saving measures, the motorcyclist was transported to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Bristol Police’s Serious Traffic Accident Reconstruction Team (START Team) was called to the scene to carry out an investigation.

Farmington Avenue remained closed until 6 a.m. as authorities collected evidence.

The identity of the motorcyclist has not yet been released, pending notification of next of kin.
