St. Paul police are investigating a fatal knife attack

St. Paul police are investigating a fatal knife attack that occurred Friday.

According to the St. Paul Police Department, officers were called to the 200 block of East 7th Street at 5:23 p.m. for a report that someone had been stabbed

Police said when they arrived they found a man lying in the parking lot of a gas station with stab wounds.

The man was taken to hospital for treatment but later died from his injuries.

St. Paul police believe the stabbing occurred after a 60-year-old man and the victim got into an argument inside the store before the victim was injured.

The 60-year-old man remained at the gas station and was later arrested for second-degree manslaughter.

Police said they were still investigating what happened, checking the man’s exact cause of death and identifying who he was.

“The victim died from his injuries,” said Sgt. Mike Ernster. “We will work with the coroner to determine what injuries actually led to his death, but blood loss is most likely the cause.”
