Police identify victim in north Phoenix stabbing

Phoenix police have identified 54-year-old Henry Lawrence as the victim who died after being stabbed in the 2400 block of East Union Hills Drive this week.

Officers arrived at the scene around 11 p.m. on Oct. 7 and found Lawrence suffering from an apparent stab wound, police said. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Matthew Ryan Fain, who police said matched the suspect’s description, was arrested without incident.

Homicide investigators responded and examined the crime scene, collecting evidence and conducting interviews, including one with the suspect, police said.

Fain was charged with one count of first-degree murder.
