One dead after crash in Jackson County

A man was killed in a car accident Wednesday evening on US Highway 72 in Jackson County.

Larry D. Parker, 26, was killed after his 2005 Nissan Sentra was struck by a 2006 Lincoln Town Car driven by Joshua A. Cain, 46, according to a news release from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency. The crash occurred on Wednesday, October 9, at approximately 9:45 p.m.

Parker was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.

The accident occurred about five miles west of Woodville, on U.S. Highway 72 near Jackson County Road 236.

Parker was from Paint Rock.
