VIDEO: Tadej Pogacar blasts Il Lombardia with a brutal attack with 48km to go!

The attack everyone expected at Il Lombardia 2024 has happened. This time, Tadej Pogacar waited a little more conservatively than usual until 48 km from the finish to blow up his rivals.

Once the Colma di Sormano climb began, the lead dropped to just 1:02 as Rudy Molard was the first rider to attack out of the break, with Groupama-FDJ teammates Remy Rochas and Eddie Dunbar of Team Jayco AlUla behind him let. A counterattack from Xandro Meurisse was the first step in creating a real separation, with the Belgian the sole leader heading into the final 50km. However, as the UAE continued to struggle through the break, all hopes seemed slim and with 48km to go Tadej Pogacar took off.
