How Maryland combats disinformation in elections

With Election Day on November 5th less than a month away, October marks Cybersecurity Awareness Month.

Jared Demarinis, an administrator with the Maryland State Board of Elections, joined the Fox 45 morning show to explain concerns about disinformation in elections, what the state is doing to combat disinformation and keep Marylanders informed to keep.

Demarinis said: “Misinformation and disinformation have taken on a whole new concept and are spreading so virally that we need to proactively address it.”

That’s exactly what the Board of Elections is now doing with a portal on its website where voters can report false information about Maryland elections
