One person killed in a crash on a toll road in Steuben County – 95.3 MNC

Indiana State Police are investigating after one person was killed in a crash on the westbound Indiana Toll Road in Steuben County.

According to officials, around 5:15 p.m. on Friday, October 11, two semi-trucks and a pickup truck collided near mile marker 146.

They say traffic came to a standstill because of a car fire, but one of the tractor-trailer drivers didn’t slow down or stop in time. Therefore, the driver took evasive action to avoid an accident, which resulted in him “swiping the pickup to the side” and hitting the other semi-truck from behind.

The pickup driver did not survive. The passenger was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

No one else was injured.
