Children’s Sensory Playroom Fund Reaches 10,000 Goal

Natarlia’s family has been raising funds for a padded sensory room

A fundraising appeal for a child born with a rare condition that makes his bones brittle has reached its £10,000 target.

Natarlia was born in May 2022 with osteogenesis imperfecta. In September she broke her femur, which required surgery.

Money from the online campaign will be used for the two-year-old from Polegate, East Sussex Fund a sensory room padded with soft play.

Her mother Nicole said: “It just means our little girl gets her own magical play world.”

Natarlia’s father Peter said: “It means more than words can say.”

“It just means our little girl can play just like other kids.”

The family said they were told by Great Ormond Street Hospital that Natarlia was the only person in the world suffering from her particular condition.

Natarlia’s parents say the donations mean ‘more than words can say’

It took her two and a half years to get approval and grants to build an addition to the family home to meet her needs.

The total cost was £140,000.

One person has donated £6,000 to the padded sensory playroom fund.

Nicole said: “I would like to find this lady and thank her from the bottom of my heart.”
