Fiery Crash Closes I-95 Saturday Morning – First State Update

Delaware State Police are investigating a crash that led to the closure of southbound I-95 at Route 141. The incident happened just before 4:20 a.m. on Saturday.

Emergency crews were dispatched after reports of a car crash with a vehicle on fire.

Upon arrival, first responders discovered that a person had been ejected from a vehicle, resulting in the roadway being closed. The on-site operations management called a total of three ambulances to support patient care.

One person was transported to ChristianaCare Trauma Center in critical condition. A second patient was taken to hospital with unspecified injuries, while a third person was evaluated at the scene but refused transport.

Currently, southbound I-95 remains closed between Route 141 and Churchmans Road. Motorists are advised to seek alternative routes to avoid the area.
