Police are appealing after a stabbing occurred at a gas station in Thornaby in the early hours of this morning

Police are today (Saturday, October 12) appealing for information from witnesses at the scene of a reported stabbing at a gas station.

A man in his 30s was found with serious stab wounds at the Hollybush Shell petrol station in Thornaby on Teesside at 5.30am.

He was taken to hospital by ambulance to be treated for his injuries.

Police remain at the scene on Thornaby Road and the area around the petrol station has been cordoned off while forensic officers comb the forecourt and general area.

(Image: Terry Blackburn) A statement from Cleveland Police said: “Officers are appealing for witnesses and information following an incident at the Hollybush petrol station in Thornaby today, Saturday 12 October 2024.”

(Image: Terry Blackburn)“The incident occurred at around 5.30am and when officers arrived at the scene they found a man in his 30s suffering from serious stab wounds.

“The victim was taken to hospital in an ambulance.

“Officers remain on site and in the area as they investigate the full circumstances of the incident.”

Anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to officers is asked to contact Cleveland Police via 101 and pass any information on to dispatch.
