Fayetteville man dies trying to remove dead deer from road | The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette

A Fayetteville man died early Thursday morning when he was struck by a vehicle while attempting to clear a dead deer from the roadway on North Crossover Road at E. Stone Mountain Drive in Fayetteville.

According to an Arkansas State Police fatal crash summary, just after midnight Thursday, 42-year-old Nelson Valdez was trying to force the deer off the road when he was struck by a southbound 2014 Subaru. The report states the driver of the Subaru told police that she did not see Valdez in time to avoid colliding with him.

An Indiana man was killed and a Missouri man was injured in a collision between a pickup truck and a motorcycle on Interstate 55 in Mississippi County just before 10:30 p.m. Wednesday evening.

State police said Connor M. Bubash, 26, of Munster, Indiana, was driving a 2023 Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on Interstate 55 when he struck the left rear of a Toyota Tacoma pickup truck, Built in 2021, collided and lost control.

The driver of the Toyota, Carl Allen Shows, 57, of Dexter, Missouri, was transported to South Mississippi County Regional Medical Center with unknown injuries.

Two people died in a head-on collision on U.S. Highway 67 in Craighead County just before midnight Wednesday when a northbound 2001 Ford F-350 pickup truck collided with a southbound 2018 Lexus on the southbound side of the highway, which was driven by Omoregie Osaghae-Nosa. 63, of Florissant, Mo.

Weather conditions were reportedly clear and the road surface was dry at the time of each accident.
