Journalists report where Inter Milan and Juventus are in the race for Jonathan David

Juventus could look to strengthen their No.9 position next summer, with LOSC Lille’s Jonathan David reportedly on the radar. Still, one journalist believes it is still too early to say who will win the race for the Canadian.

According to transfer expert Matteo Moretto, the 24-year-old has decided against extending his contract with Lille. In his recent column for Caught Offside, Moretto pointed out that Inter Milan had made great strides in their pursuit of David, but the competition remained tough.

David, who joined Lille in 2020, has scored 87 goals in 190 games across all competitions. Last month, reports named Arsenal, Juventus, Tottenham and Newcastle United as possible contenders for his signing.

The Lille star can sign a pre-contract with any club from January. Therefore, the next few months will be crucial in determining which team positions itself to sign the player.

Internews24.com journalist Paolo Bargiggia provided the latest on the two Serie A clubs as they look to secure pole position to sign a quality player as a free agent. However, it is still early days in this file to determine who currently has the advantage.

“Inter have been keeping an eye on Jonathan David for some time as he has no plans to extend his contract with Lille, which runs until 2025,” noted Bargiggia (h/t Bianconera News).

“Juventus is also showing some interest. However, I don’t think the situation should be monitored closely now as things are still in their early stages. We will have a clearer picture later.”
