State police are investigating a stabbing in Palmyra

PALMYRA, Maine (WABI) – State police are investigating a knife attack in Palmyra.

Officers said they were called to a home on Madawaska Road just before 3 a.m. Friday.

When they arrived, they said there was a man there who had suffered serious injuries.

They were taken to a hospital in Pittsfield and later to a hospital in Bangor, where they remain in critical condition.

Her identity is not being released at this time.

The road was closed for hours but has since been reopened.

Officials say there is no known threat to the public at this time.
