Two suspects linked to the Bexar County car theft ring may also be linked to the Windsor Hollow shooting, records show

BEXAR COUNTY, Texas — Two men arrested in connection with a car theft ring in Bexar County may also be linked to a fatal shooting at a townhouse in northeast Bexar County earlier this year, according to court records.

Isaiah Perales, 20, and Bryan Salazar, 22, were two of three suspects arrested Thursday in connection with the car theft ring.

Perales was taken into custody for auto theft. Salazar was charged with tampering with evidence, marijuana possession and deadly conduct.

Bexar County records filed this week indicate Perales and Salazar may be linked to a May 8 shooting in which more than two dozen shots were fired at a townhouse in the 6700 block of Windsor Hollow Drive.

A four-year-old girl was killed and two other children (an eight-year-old boy and a seven-year-old boy) were injured in the shooting. A 27-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman were also hit by gunfire.

According to the documents, investigators believe the townhouse shooting may have been in retaliation for the death of Salazar’s stepbrother that occurred nearly two weeks earlier.

Bexar County documents show Salazar’s stepbrother, identified as 27-year-old Xavier Perez, was shot and killed on April 26. San Antonio police said Perez was shot multiple times as he left Brook’s Inner City Sports in the 100 block of Topeka Boulevard.

Authorities said Perez was pronounced dead at the scene. The Bexar County Coroner’s Office ruled Perez’s death a homicide.

Currently, Salazar and Perales are not charged in connection with the Windsor Hollow Drive shooting, but court records show that charges may be filed.
