One person has been seriously injured in a jet boat accident on the Marlborough River

One person has been seriously injured in a jet boat accident on a river in Marlborough this afternoon.

Police said they were alerted to the incident in North Bank at around 3.40pm.

St. John said it responded with an ambulance and a helicopter.

“Our teams assessed and treated a patient who was flown to Wairau Hospital in a serious condition,” a spokesman said.
