Menifee man admits to sexually abusing girls

MURRIETA, Calif. – A 24-year-old man who repeatedly sexually abused a Lake Elsinore girl pleaded guilty Friday to felony charges.

Kole Scully Mims, of Menifee, admitted to two counts of lewd acts on a child under 14 in a plea agreement with the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office. In exchange for his guilty plea, prosecutors agreed to drop four related charges against Mims.

Superior Court Judge John Monterosso has scheduled a hearing for Jan. 10 at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta. An expected prison sentence was not announced.

Mims remains free on $110,000 bond.

According to sheriff’s Sgt. Jeff Reese, officers were alerted to the harassment of a juvenile in Lake Elsinore in July 2023, identified only as “MA” in court documents.

The investigation revealed that Mims assaulted the victim multiple times, Reese said.

Court records show the first assault occurred in early June 2022 and the most recent in late November of that year.

The circumstances of the crimes and any relationship between the defendant and the girl were not disclosed.

An arrest warrant was served for Mims in Riverside, where he was taken into custody without incident in early August 2023.

He had no documented criminal history in Riverside County.
