Somerset man faces charges after a road rage incident led to an alleged assault in Fall River

A Somerset man is facing multiple charges after he allegedly assaulted a man in a traffic accident in Fall River on Thursday.

Police said they responded to the area of ​​High Street and Prospect Street for a gun-related fight at 1 p.m.

Officers on scene said they found a man with an apparent head injury.

The man told police that after a minor accident, he was involved in a traffic accident with the driver of the other vehicle.

He also told police that the driver attacked him with a blunt object.

Police then located 40-year-old Jose Correa, who confirmed he had exchanged words with the other driver.

Police said the two men began arguing and the interaction became physical.

Correa told police that he had a flashlight in his hand during the fight and may have hit the other party with it.

Correa was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, leaving the scene of an accident, criminal damage and failure to exercise due care.
