Bail set at  million for Lincoln man accused of sexually abusing a child under 12

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – A Lincoln man charged with sexual assault of a child made his first court appearance Friday, appearing via Zoom from the Lancaster County Jail.

Justin Whitlock, 43, was charged with first-degree sexual assault of a child. According to court documents, the victim was under 12 years old when the alleged assault occurred on or about Aug. 4.

His bail was set at 10% of $1 million and his next court date is scheduled for November 14.

If convicted, Whitlock faces a minimum of 15 years in prison and a maximum sentence of life in prison.
