Berkshire County man convicted of 2019 hammer attack that resulted in death of his estranged wife

A Berkshire County man has been sentenced to life in prison for killing his wife.

According to the Berkshire County District Attorney, Michael Cook was found guilty last week of breaking into his estranged wife Charli’s home in 2019.

Prosecutors say Cook struck her in the head with a hammer, causing significant brain injury. Five months later, Charli Cook died from his injuries.

Michael Cook Sr. will serve his sentence in state prison and is eligible for parole in 25 years.
