A Schuyler County man is seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash

A Schuyler County man was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Clark County on Friday.

It happened around 12:25 p.m. on US Highway 136 in Kahoka.

According to an accident report on the Missouri State Highway Patrol website, an SUV driven by George Nichols, 97, of Kahoka, was traveling eastbound when it turned into the path of a westbound tractor-trailer driven by Jake Kirby, 54, of Lancaster , was driven, which caused a collision.

Kirby suffered serious injuries and was transported by air evacuation to the University of Iowa Hospital.

Nichols suffered moderate injuries and was taken to Blessing Hospital by Scotland County Ambulance.

According to the online accident report, Nichols was wearing a seatbelt. Whether Kirby was wearing a seatbelt or not is unknown.
