Marinette police arrest a bank robbery suspect at Walmart shortly after the robbery

MARINETTE, Wis. (WBAY) – Police in Marinette arrested a Marinette man at a Walmart shortly after a bank robbery Friday.

Shortly before 2 p.m. Friday, police responded to a report of a robbery at the Peshtigo National Bank on Roosevelt Road. They gathered information about the suspect and evidence from the scene and were then notified of a person matching the description located at a Walmart, also on Roosevelt Road, just before 2:30 p.m.

Officers arrived on scene and took the suspect, a 33-year-old Marinette man, into custody without incident. He was booked into the Marinette County Jail on charges related to the robbery. He was not named because formal charges are pending.

The Marinette Police Department was assisted by the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, the Peshtigo Police Department and the Wisconsin DNR. They thank local businesses and citizens for their assistance in apprehending the suspect.
