Carol Vorderman quits LBC radio show after ‘health scandal’ | Ents & Arts News

Carol Vorderman has said she will not be continuing her Sunday LBC radio show after suffering “burnout” from working seven days a week.

The former Countdown star said she suffered a “health scandal” two weeks ago which resulted in her staying in hospital overnight.

In a post on social media, Vorderman said she had traveled to London but was feeling “very unwell” and “completely exhausted” and had a “tight feeling” in her chest.

She said she ended up in hospital and underwent a series of scans and examinations which revealed no health problems.

Following the advice of family and friends, the broadcaster said she viewed the health crisis as a “warning signal to slow down” and announced her decision to “reduce my work to weekdays for the time being.”

“I’m very fed up but I’ve made the decision that I can no longer do my Sunday show on LBC, which is a very hard decision but I didn’t see anything else I could do,” she said in the Instagram video .

The 63-year-old said her time on the radio show was “a total joy” and she was “very sad to” say goodbye.

Vanessa Feltz will host the show on Sunday afternoon.

A statement from LBC said: “We fully understand Carol’s decision.”

“Your health is our top priority and everyone here at LBC sends their best wishes.”

“Carol’s show was a must-see on Sunday and whilst we know many people will miss her, we look forward to having her back on LBC soon.”

Vorderman joined LBC in January this year to host their new Sunday program, which runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

This came two months after she quit her BBC radio show, saying she was “not prepared to lose my voice” after the company introduced new social media policies.

Vorderman was a vocal critic of the previous Conservative government and had several heated arguments with Tory MPs on social media – although she recently criticized the new Labor government about cutting fuel payments for millions of pensioners in the winter.

She said BBC management had decided that she should abandon her Saturday morning show on BBC Radio Wales because of a breach of the new guidelines.
