A man was stabbed in Palmyra, according to Maine State Police

Maine State Police spent Friday investigating a stabbing in Palmyra.

1 man was seriously injured in a stabbing in Hartland

Officials have not released any information about the victim other than to say he is an adult male. He was transported to Sebasticook Valley Hospital in Pittsfield and later taken to Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor, where he was in critical condition at last report.

Maine police say the public is not in danger

Members of the Maine State Police and Somerset County Sheriff’s Office were called to a residence at 482 Madawaska Road in Palmyra just before 3:00 a.m. Friday morning. When they arrived, they found the victim with serious injuries. There is no information about whether there are any suspects or what the motive for the stabbing might have been. Police say there is no known threat to the public.

Officials closed Madawaska Road for most of the day

Madawaska Road was closed for most of the day during the investigation. This incident is still under investigation.
