A man who worked at a children’s hospital in North Texas is facing additional child abuse charges

A man who worked at a children’s hospital in North Texas is jailed for a second time in connection with an allegation of indecency with a child as Irving police continue their investigation.

Angel Nunez, 25, is being held in connection with a new charge of indecency with a child after being arrested in September. According to police, Nunez is accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with patients and working at locations throughout Dallas-Fort Worth. It is unclear whether he has a lawyer.

In late August, police learned of a report of indecency with a child that occurred at Little Spurs Pediatric Emergency Room in Irving. According to police, investigators determined that Nunez had inappropriate sexual contact with several juveniles on separate occasions.

Nunez was arrested on Sept. 5 on a charge of indecency with a child and released on bail a few days later, police said. There were two victims. On Wednesday, Nunez was arrested in connection with a 9-year-old victim who police say he had contact with in January.

The circumstances of the crime were similar, the police said. The patients believed they were undergoing a medical examination and were unaware at the time that they were being abused.

Police said Little Spurs was fully cooperative with the investigation. A Little Spurs spokesperson said the clinic learned that an employee had performed a “medical procedure that was beyond their scope of practice and our established policies.” After learning of this, the clinic fired the employee, launched an internal investigation and contacted Child Protective Services.

Nunez worked as a medical assistant at multiple Little Spurs locations in Irving, Grand Prairie, Arlington and Fort Worth between August 2023 and August 2024. As of Friday afternoon, he remained in jail on $300,000 bail, online records show.

Irving police encourage anyone who may have interacted with Nunez to discuss the issue with their children, family members and friends.

Police said anyone who knows of or is a victim should call Detective Andy Padrutt at 972-721-6565 or email [email protected]. You can also call police at 972-273-1010.
