The Snake Queen: Canceled, no third season for the historical drama series, but Starz in talks about a spin-off – canceled + renewed TV shows, ratings

The Story of Catherine de Medici has come to an end on Starz. The cable channel canceled The snake queen, So there will be no third season. However, there is talk of a spin-off series starring Minnie Driver (top left).

A historical drama series, The Snake Queen The TV show stars Samantha Morton, Amrita Acharia, Enzo Cilenti, Barry Atsma, Nicholas Burns, Danny Kirrane, Sennia Nanua, Beth Goddard, Antonia Clarke and George Jaques. The story revolves around Catherine de Medici (Morton), who defied all odds to become one of the most powerful and longest-serving rulers in French history. Catherine’s story unfolds in flashbacks as she defends her actions and shares the lessons she’s learned with her new maid, Rahima (Nanua). At 14, the young, orphaned Catherine (Hill) marries into the 16th century French court. Despite her civil status, her uncle, Pope Clement (Dance), negotiated a large dowry and a geopolitical alliance in return for the union, and with it came the expectations of many heirs. But on her wedding night, Catherine learns that her new husband is in love with Diane de Poitiers (Sagnier), a beautiful lady-in-waiting twice his age. With her future suddenly uncertain and little hope of having a child, Catherine must quickly learn who she can trust – both in her circle of courtiers and members of the royal court – while outmaneuvering anyone who would challenge her resolve Price to survive underestimated.

The second season of The Snake Queen The broadcast ended in August and the series consisted of 16 episodes across both seasons. Cast options were selected for the third season in March According to Deadline, they will be paid for the unproduced episodes.

A spin-off centered around Queen Elizabeth I is reportedly in the works Snake Queen Writer/executive producer Justin Haythe and executive producer Erwin Stoff. No casting has been announced yet, but Driver played Elizabeth in the second season and is expected to reprise the role.
