R. Kelly’s daughter claims her father sexually abused her as a child

JoAnn Kelly has publicly accused her father R. Kelly from sexually abused her as a child.

Kelly, better known as Buku Abi, spoke out about the disturbing allegations in TVEI Network’s new documentary “Karma: A Daughter’s Journey,” which premiered on Friday, October 11. Towards the end of the two-episode premiere, Abi claimed her father molested her when she was around 8 or 9 years old.

“I just remember waking up to him touching me,” she said, crying, according to the statement People. “And I didn’t know what to do, so I just laid there and pretended to be asleep.”

“He was my everything. “For a long time I didn’t even want to believe it happened,” she said in the first episode. “I didn’t know he would hurt me even if he was a bad person.” I was too scared to tell anyone. I was too afraid to tell my mother.”

Buku Abi reportedly told her mother Drea Kelly about the incident in 2009. They filed a lawsuit against the singer under “Jane Doe,” but the statute of limitations had already expired. In the documentary, Kelly’s ex-wife shamed him and supported her daughter’s claims. Shortly after the documentary premiered, Kelly’s lawyer firmly denied the allegations.

“Mr. Kelly vehemently denies these allegations,” said his lawyer, Jennifer Bonjean TMZ. “His ex-wife made the same claim years ago and it was investigated by the Illinois Department of Children & Family Services and found to be baseless… and the ‘filmmakers’, whoever they are, have not contacted Mr. Kelly or his team.” you even allow him to deny these hurtful claims.

R. Kelly is currently serving his 20-year sentence in a North Carolina facility after being convicted of sex crimes against minors in Chicago and racketeering in New York. His legal team is actively seeking to appeal his conviction in Chicago to the Supreme Court.
