Parent and student taken into custody after assault at Williamstown High School in Gloucester County

WILLIAMSTOWN, New Jersey (WPVI) — A parent and student were taken into custody after both a school staff member and a faculty member were attacked in Gloucester County.

It happened just after 9 a.m. Friday at Williamstown High School.

The school was temporarily locked down during the altercation but later resumed normal operations.

The attack led to a large police presence at the school.

According to authorities, the school resource officer was treated for injuries to his hands and face.

Police are still investigating what led to the attack.
