Somerville motorcyclist killed in three-vehicle crash on FM 60 in Brazos County

BRAZOS COUNTY, Texas (KBTX) – A motorcyclist was killed in a three-vehicle crash on the west side of Brazos County Thursday evening.

KBTX reported the fatal crash around 8:45 a.m. Thursday evening, and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) confirmed the results of the preliminary crash report Friday morning.

According to this report, a 2012 Toyota Corolla was traveling westbound on FM 60 near Vincent Road shortly after 8:20 p.m. when the driver made a U-turn. A motorcyclist, also traveling west, crashed into the Corolla and threw the driver from the motorcycle. The motorcyclist was then struck by a pickup truck traveling east.

The accident occurred just after 8 p.m. on FM 60 near Vincent Road east of the Brazos River.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene by a Brazos County Justice of the Peace. Texas DPS identified him as James Jolly, 69, of Somerville. The other drivers remained uninjured.

Texas DPS told KBTX that the investigation into the crash is continuing.
