Car rolls over in two-vehicle collision near Woodlake

Two vehicles collided in an accident just outside of Woodlake Township Thursday afternoon. The accident occurred just after 4 p.m. on Lobelia Road at the intersection with McLauchlin Road.

According to the Highway Patrol, which investigated the collision, a Ford Escape in the eastbound lane of Lobelia Road attempted to turn left onto McLauchlin Road but was unable to avoid a Honda CRV traveling west toward Vass.

The two SUVs collided, causing the Honda to spin in the opposite direction and roll onto its driver’s side.

The Ford stopped at the intersection, blocking the westbound lane of Lobelia Road.

A Ford Escape suffered front-end damage in a two-vehicle collision outside Vass on October 10th.

Both vehicles were severely damaged in the accident, but the two female drivers, who were the only occupants, were not transported to the hospital by ambulance at the time of publishing this report.

One lane of Lobelia Road was closed for approximately an hour, causing significant traffic delays in the area.

Responding units included the Cypress Pointe Fire Department, Moore County EMS, Moore County Sheriff’s Office and the NC Highway Patrol.
