Sister Bay woman injured in two-vehicle crash

A 72-year-old woman from New Lenox, Illinois, has been charged with failure to yield the right of way when she caused a crash last week that sent a Sister Bay woman to the hospital. On October 3, the woman and her passenger from Oak Park, Illinois, were traveling on County Highway EE in the town of Baileys Harbor when they ran a stop sign at the intersection with County Highway A. At the time, the 59-year-old from Sister Bay was traveling south on County Highway A when the right side of her vehicle was struck. The collision sent both vehicles onto the east side of County Highway A before eventually coming to a stop. While the Sister Bay woman was taken to Door County Medical Center for treatment of her injuries, the two Illinois women were uninjured. Due to the damage caused by the accident, both vehicles had to be towed away.
