Flack Broadcasting – Lewis County North Country resident charged with criminal contempt, cops say

DIANA- Authorities say a North Country resident is facing felony charges stemming from a reported domestic incident in Lewis County this week.

Colby V. Whitton, 21, of Natural Bridge, NY, was arrested by New York State Police (Carthage) early Friday. Whitton is formally charged with one count of first-degree criminal contempt (violation of protective order – physical threat).

Troopers say the arrest stems from an alleged domestic dispute late Thursday night in the town of Diana.

At press time, police said an investigation was ongoing. Meanwhile, Whitton’s arrest status indicated he would be required to appear for a key arraignment.
